A central part of the Second Mile Haiti mission is providing jobs for Haitian people so that they can sustainably provide for themselves and their families, eliminating their need to turn to orphanages in order for their children to survive.

We’re proud to say that 98% of Second Mile Haiti employees were born and raised in Haiti, and 100% of employees live in Haiti. This means more individuals who wake up with purpose each day, more families supported by stable income, and more jobs to help Haiti’s economic development. It also means that Second Mile beneficiaries receive support from caring individuals who speak the same language and can relate to their struggles.

In 2022, the number of full-time positions is expected to reach 60.

OUR SOCIAL BUSINESS

We’re striving to create additional career opportunities through Tou Natirèl, a social business birthed in the gardens at Second Mile Haiti. Tou Natirel produces coconut oil, yogurt, cheese, honey, and Moringa powder and sells these items throughout Northern Haiti.

Currently, 12 mothers earn income through their work in transforming Tou Natirèl products and 25 individuals earn income as Tou Natirèl yogurt vendors.

These all-natural, hard-to-find products are developed right on our land and sold in local markets. All proceeds go towards business grants for women in the program.
